Japanese blog "Egami" released images data suggest that Canon owns the patent for 11-24mm f / 4 lens. The patent was zashititen year ago, was released on January 20th this year.

What will disappoint someone is Aperture amounting to f / 4 , and certainly the majority of users of Canon products expected to f/2.8 aperture lens . Yet hardly be expected to f/2.8 aperture zoom lens with which " starts " from an impressive 11 millimeters .

Nikon has to offer legendary 14 - 24mm f/2.8G ED lens and can say that Canon is lagging behind with its ultra - wide and "fisheye" lenses . Here are the 16 - 35mm f/2.8 L II 8 -15mm f / 4 L Fisheye, although you should know that the wide part of the Fisheye lens does not cover the entire "full frame" sensor , but offers a rounded picture form .

Canon 11 - 24mm lens would certainly filled some gaps in its offer , but it remains to see how many people will be satisfied with the f / 4 aperture , especially those who are dealing with video production . There is no information when this lens could appear on the market , or how much it could cost .
